Hello Everyone,
Please find Act 2 with the cuts in and out so edits can be made in your own
copies and you can also see how it all flows. This is much less edited
than Act 1 is as there's a lot of set up for the drama in Act 3, when the
first half will end will the exile of Coriolanus.
Ralph and Matthew, during Scene 3 as you are convincing the polis to renege
on the election of Coriolanus and, frankly, storm the Capitol, you will
have a stack of wax tablets that contain mis/information about Coriolanus
to rile them up. Satire, innit?
Chorus: there are two set pieces in this Act. The first is during
Cominius's speech in Scene 2, where we will choreograph a performance of
Martius's deeds in the defence of Rome, with several of you dropping down
dead as he dispatches various enemies. The second set piece is in Scene 3
where we will aim to get Coriolanus spinning around as you all needle him
with questions and inquiries in his (or his mother's) quest for the
consulship.
Also, Helen and Rose, we want some good comedy campness as you argue over
cushion placements while debating Coriolanus's merits as a leader.
Many thanks everyone. As ever, any questions, concerns or comments please
let me know.
All the best,
Oscar
